garden gifts

My mother in law bought me a rose, the planting kind. i have to find a spot to put it in my yard. all i asked for, for my birthday in May, is to have a few flowers in my garden. i want an arbor from hubby, but the one i wanted was sold out and we are waiting on a reorder. i planted flowers here before but after i went away, they died. and now i need to start over. i dream of a groomed lawn and beautiful flower beds. i guess it is alot to ask to have it POOF all done. a garden is a lot of work, and my thumbs SURE aren't green. so i am starting some seeds INSIDE because i am not positive that we are going to remain frost free here on the east coast. and now i need a trick to keep the cats out of the yard. Hermmmmm....
